Machine Busyness¶
The busyness metric is a machine indicators to make informed job submission decisions relating to Quantinuum Systems. There are two indicators - Organizational Queued Credits and Machine Usage - now available on the Nexus backends page and via the Nexus API.
Both indicators should be considered prior to any decision on the machine instance to target for an execute job.
Indicators¶
There are two indicators, Organizational Queued Credits and Machine Usage, reported to users within the Nexus portal. Each indicator is a separate column on the device page view.

Organization Queued Credits¶
This metric shows queued Hardware Quantum Credits (HQCs) for the user’s organization. Since hardware is accessed via a fair queue system that balances organizations equitably, this is the most reliable representation for queue time.
Machine Usage¶
This is an indicator for the number of different organizations with jobs in the queue for a specified machine. Fewer organizations result in a shorter queue time for the user’s organization.
