License v6.0.2

Important

Licensing within this section refers to software-based licensing keys, required to activate and use Quantum Origin.

Quantinuum provides customers with a base64-encoded licence key that is used directly in products in the relevant configuration stage.

Licensing within this section does not refer to end-user legal licence agreements (EULAs), or other legal agreements.

Where file-based configuration is used, the software licence required to use Quantum Origin is specified under the license field.

This license is encrypted and digitally signed by Quantinuum and contains parameters such as the end-user organization, the dates in which the license is valid, the version of Quantum Origin, and the quantum seed.

The license code is provided as a base64 encoded string that must be supplied within the license section of the configuration file. The Quantum Origin software will read the configuration file, verify its signature with a public key, and decrypt the license code. Quantum Origin will log the details of the license to the configured log location. This will debug information from the license code as well as the hash of the quantum seed for verification. The quantum seed will never be output in logs.

Some integrations may take the licence through other input means, such as via an installer. For these, the licence need not be specified in a configuration file.

Tip

Quantinuum will provide the exact licence content directly to you for use within the integrations.

Standard License

The standard licence is applicable is almost all use cases, including all Production use-cases.

The licence takes a single parameter at the top-level, a licence provided by Quantinuum to the end-user.

The standard format is shown below:

license: >
  hKllb[... remaining licence omitted]

Evaluation License

Quantinuum can provide evaluation licences for limited-time, non-production use in a variety of forms for almost all use-cases. This can allow the testing of an adaptor or integration.

Evaluation licences are configured in a different manner to standard production licences. When an evaluation takes place, you will receive documentation alongside your evaluation licence explaining how to perform an evaluation.
